  • Metro Walls Helps Kick of Hunger Action Month with $20,000 Donation to the New Hampshire Food Bank

Metro Walls, Inc., provider of full-service commercial framing and drywall, announced today that it has made a donation of $20,000 to The New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities NH, to assist in their hunger relief initiatives throughout the upcoming Holiday seasons. The critical funding will support the NH Food Bank’s efforts to distribute nutritious food to more than 400 partner agencies statewide. Metro Walls has made it a priority to help those in need with donations totaling $100,000 to the Food Bank since 2011. “The NH Food Bank is very grateful to Mike Dion and Metro Walls for their continued generosity and support. On a daily basis, ten percent of men and women and thirteen percent of children go hungry in NH. Partnerships like this are critical in helping us feed people in need” said Eileen Liponis, Executive Director. The Fall season brings with it Hunger Action Month, a nationwide awareness campaign urging businesses and residents to take action to fight hunger. In New Hampshire, the need continues to grow. One in nine New Hampshire residents—including one in five children—are food insecure, meaning they do not know where their next meal is coming from. In 2016, the NH Food Bank distributed nearly 13 million pounds of food, which equates to more than 10.5 million meals with food distribution quadrupling over the last ten years. This year, the NH Food Bank anticipates distributing 14 million pounds of food to meet the growing need.
